Pornhub Subsidiary to Pay Crypto Tokens To Viewers

In the latest cryptocurrency news, Pornhub’s subsidiary Tube8 is looking to incorporate digital assets into its services. Also an adult video service, the site plans to reward viewers for interacting with its services. This became possible through its partnership with VIT or Vice Industry Token.

Fully Tokenizing

Tube8’s partnership is specifically designed to fully tokenize the platform. Basically, it will incorporate VIT tokens on its site and, at the same time, reward visitors for either watching or interacting with its many adult videos. For Robin Turner, the streaming service’s very own spokesperson, it has always been their goal to get people paid for watching porn. It was “always a pipe dream,” he added.

Turner further stated that thanks to the introduction of VIT, Tube8 would be capable of marking “a paradigm shift” in terms of how people consume adult entertainment. Unlike in the past, it was all about users logging in and simply watching videos. From there, once they were done, they would just leave. VIT enables a certain incentivization system to enable users to create and interact with the platform’s content. That is when they can generate Vice Tokens right away.

Migration To Graphene

It is worth noting that prior to the upcoming launch, Tube8 will first migrate from the Ethereum blockchain to a forked version. The latter is none other than the steem blockchain known as Graphene. This move was officially confirmed by Stuart Duncan, the CEO of VIT.

Turner said that VIT utilizes “delegated proof-of-stake” and is, in one way or another, fully centralized. He added that it is by far the true working fork of steem in existence. Considering all things happening right now between Tube8 and VIT, it is safe to say that a new kind of adult entertainment service will emerge.

Interestingly, Tube8 is not the first adult video service company to include and integrate cryptocurrency into its platform. It now joins the ranks of Playboy TV and Stormy Daniels, two platforms that have since found the glory of using digital assets on their respective services. As a matter of fact, both of these adult streaming services announced earlier this year that they would incentivize their sites. This would be done through a rewarding system that incentivizes users for watching adult videos. Above anything else, this move is proof that the blockchain technology has the potential to revolutionize the way sites offer services.
