Armstrong: 1 Billion People in Crypto Space in 5 Years

According to the Chief Executive Officer of cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase, Brian Armstrong, the number of people that will be operating in the cryptocurrency space will explode from the current 40 million to more than 1 billion in 5 years’ time.

Armstrong, in an interview with TechCrunch, stated that the entire cryptocurrency world and the number of cryptocurrencies would grow quite a bit. He said this growth would be because commercial organizations would develop their own digital tokens. These tokens, predicted Armstrong, would work together with equality as a kind of alternative investment system.

Engie and Maltem Launch New Blockchain Studio

The French energy giant Engie and Maltem, a business consulting group, are partnering together to launch a new company on Blockchain development for commercial clients. According to the companies’ announcement, this spinoff, called Blockchain Studio, is targeting clients in Southern Europe and Asia.

The first product on offer by Blockchain Studio is a software suite which will accelerate and industrialize the implementation of Blockchain based projects. The companies, in the press release, explained that most Blockchain projects ended up stagnating at the proof of concept stage, leaving this technology as the domain on techies. With this new tool, even people with no technical knowledge will be able to develop smart contracts.

Ripple’s General Counsel Quits

The General Counsel for Ripple, Brynly Llyr has quit the company after taking over the role in November 2016. Ripple confirmed that Llyr no longer is associated with the firm. In an official statement, the company said that they were grateful for all the work done by Llyr and that they wished her all the best in her future endeavors.

Llyr has stepped down at a time when the company is in the middle of a major lawsuit about whether Ripple’s token XRP is a security or not. The lawsuit has been going on since May this year, when crypto investor Ryan Coffey initiated action against the firm.

Volumes in trading fell by $1.67 billion to $12.13 billion since yesterday. The crypto market’s capitalization also fell by another $5.03 billion to $203.40 billion.

Bitcoin Price Analysis: Sep 08

Bitcoin, after showing signs of recovery yesterday, is once more trading in the red, with its price now at $6470.32, which is a 1.05% decrease. BTC’s capitalization is $111.67 billion and trading volumes have slipped to $4.13 billion.

Ethereum Price Analysis: Sep 08

Ethereum’s current trading price is $216.49, a 6.56% loss since yesterday. The market value of the crypto is $22.06 billion and its volumes in trading are $1.61 billion.

State of the Top 10 Cryptocurrencies: Sep 08

While stablecoin Tether saw a 0.19% increase, the rest of the top ten cryptocurrencies have slipped since yesterday’s partial rally. The biggest drops were seen in Ethereum, which nosedived another 6.56%, followed by Monero, which dropped by 4.96% and Cardano, which fell by 4.58%.
