Cargill Investing Resources to Develop Hyperledger Grid

The American agriculture giant Cargill announced on January 25 that it is investing resources in digital engineering to contribute in developing Hyperledger Grid. Hyperledger Grid is the new project that Hyperledger is launching, which will focus on streamlining supply chains with the help of Blockchain technology.

According to Cargill, which is the United States’ biggest private company and has a $114.7 billion revenue, has said that the Hyperledger Grid can help speed up solutions for the global agriculture and food supply chains using Blockchain as well as other digital technology solutions.

Italian Senate May Amend Laws for Blockchain Stamping

The Italian Senate, called the Senato della Repubblica, published a proposal this week, to amend an already passed law (Senate Act no. 989) in December 2018 to add DLT (distributed ledger technology) and smart-contract terms to it.

This proposal has already been approved by the country’s Constitutional Affairs and Public Works Senate Committees. However, the final approval for this proposal to be added to the law needs to come from the Italian Parliament. Once approved, the Agency for Digital Italy will take over and then define the standards and framework for Blockchain use in the country.

Bitstamp Partnering with Online Swiss Bank

Europe-based cryptocurrency exchange Bitstamp announced that it has entered into a partnership with the online Swiss bank Dukascopy. According to the announcement, Bitstamp will support BTC (Bitcoin) transactions for the bank.

Clients of Dukascopy Bank will now be able to transfer BTC to their bank accounts, convert their funds into USD and also trade on Switzerland’s FX Marketplace. Added to that, users will also be able to move their funds from their bank accounts to their BTC wallets.

According to Bitstamp, this new partnership will help bridge the gap between traditional finance and the cryptocurrency world.
