Bunz Trading Zone Launches its own Crypto – BTZ

The online trading and bartering platform based in Canada, Bunz Trading Zone is planning to launch its own cryptocurrency called BTZ (pronounced “bits”). The firm states that it will be the first company to launch a Canadian cryptocurrency to an established community, i.e., its own members.

Bunz was originally launched in 2013 as a private group in Facebook by a fashion designer, Emily Bitze. The group was used to exchange unused items between friends but the community soon grew in popularity and expanded beyond just Toronto and Facebook. Thus, in 2016, the Bunz app as well as website were launched and today, the platform has more than 200,000 users.

Landmark Steps Taken to Develop Blockchain Technology in Hangzhou, China

In a landmark ceremony, the new Hangzhou Blockchain Industrial Park was launched in China yesterday. This ceremony also saw the launch of the Zhejiang Shimang Blockchain Strategic Development Research Institute and the announcement of the creation of a 10 billion yuan ($1.6 billion) fund called the Xiongan Global Blockchain Innovation Fund.

The three projects – the new industrial park, the research institute and the Fund – are a part of the plan to give financial as well as academic support to the development of blockchain related tech in Hangzhou. The Fund is financed by Yuhang’s District Government and 30% of the funds will be government guided.

Proxeus & IMB’s Entry For digitalSwitzerland Challenge a Sure Winner

Proxeus, a blockchain workflow generator and engine, teamed up with IBM Switzerland to create a project for the digitalSwitzerland challenge. Proxeus, called WordPress for Blockchain, and IBM together have created a project that can register a startup on blockchain in just a fraction of the time it currently takes.

The two companies said the idea came to them after Switzerland had been ranked 54th in terms of time it takes to start a business, and 56th in terms of the number of steps (bureaucracy) it takes to start a business in Switzerland at the World Economic Forum. This ranking was out of a total of 138 participating countries.

Ethereum’s price dropped 1.41% to $400.62 in the last 24 hours. ETH’s trading volume is at $1.4 billion and its market cap is $39.52 billion.

State of the Top 10 Cryptocurrencies: Apr 10

The prices of all the top ten cryptocurrencies in the market fell in the last 24 hours. Seven of the ten cryptos fell less than 1%, however, Bitcoin dropped 1%, Ethereum dropped by 1.41% and Cardano dropped by 1.43%.

  • Bitcoin dropped 1% to its current price of $6785.18. BTC’s market value is now $115.14 billion.
  • Ethereum dropped 1.41% to its current price of $400.62. ETH’s market value is now $39.52 billion.
  • Ripple dropped 0.56% to its current price of $0.487544. XPR’s market value is now $19.06 billion.
  • Bitcoin Cash dropped 0.89% to its current price of $638.71. BCH’s market value is now $10.89 billion.
  • Litecoin dropped 0.83% to its current price of $114.42. LTC’s market value is now $6.4 billion.
  • EOS dropped 0.51% to its current price of $5.84. EOS’s market value is now $4.56 billion.
  • Cardano dropped 1.43% to its current price of $0.150126. ADA’s market value is now $3.89 billion.
  • Stellar dropped 0.78% to its current price of $0.197752. XLM’s market value is now $3.66 billion.
  • NEO dropped 0.41% to its current price of $50.90. NEO’s market value is now $3.30 billion.
  • IOTA dropped 0.59% to its current price of $0.992706. MIOTA’s market value is now $2.75 billion.
