According to two of the latest patent filings, it seems that Microsoft is exploring the option of using TEEs (Trusted Execution Environments) for its Blockchain offerings. According to the data gathered by the US Patent and Trademark Office last week, a TEE is something that stores a pre-determined kind of Blockchain or protocol code within a validation node.

David Marcus is no longer Facebook’s blockchain head after he announced his decision to quit the position. The announcement was made during the board of U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase. It is worth noting that he joined the said board in December of last year. From there, he took on a blockchain research group at the company in May. Unfortunately, he believes that now is the “appropriate” time to leave.
The IOTA Foundation has been going to some serious turmoil in recent weeks, as was revealed by a leaked transcript of a discussion between the Foundation’s Board of Directors and the founders. According to the transcript, the two founders of the German registered non-profit, Serguei Popov and Sergey Ivancheglo, were not given access to the Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Turkey instituted the country’s very first university level Blockchain center, with the aim to close the gap in expertise in the technology as well as facilitate greater deployment of the technology. The new center is called the Istanbul Blockchain and Innovation Center (BlockchainIST Center) and was launched at the Bahcesehir University (BAU).
