Status Laying Off 25% Staff Due to Crypto Market Decline
Status, the Ethereum-based chat platform, is going to lay off 25% of its staff because of the cryptocurrency market decline. The company was founded in Switzerland in 2017, and it is an open-source mobile app based on the Ethereum network that allows users to chat, conduct transactions and access decentralized applications (DApps).
The co-founder of Status Jarrod Hope announced that their platform was much larger than they could sustain in a declining market. The company had not been prepared for the value of Ethereum falling more than 80% since August.

Shoppers Earning Bitcoin through in-Browser App Lolli
Cosmetics giant Sephora revealed that shoppers can now earn Bitcoin by purchasing items online by using an in-browser app called Lolli. Lolli is a Bitcoin rewards startup which was able to clinch the deal with Sephora by using their data – that 30% of the apps’ thousands of users were women.
Lolli’s Chief Executive Officer Alex Adelman stated in an exclusive interview that previously retailers were not interested in their app, however, they went back to them and lot of them now were coming on board. He added that Sephora was one of the biggest retailers to join their platform.

AT&T Looking at Blockchain Based Social Media History “Map”
According to the application published by the USPTO (US Patent and Trademark Officer), the US telecom giant AT&T is planning to develop a Blockchain powered social media history “map”.
The patent application submitted by AT&T describes a system that is powered by Blockchain tech which may include a control for transaction history to store subscriber data. This platform can then be used for various purposes, such as creating as well as sharing ideas, information and career interests via networks and virtual communities.

Litecoin is the only cryptocurrency in the top ten list that is in the green in trading at the moment. The altcoin is up by 1.71% and has overtaken Bitcoin Cash as the number 7 most valuable crypto. Of the rest of the top cryptocurrencies, Bitcoin Cash and Bitcoin SV continue their freefall, with BCH price going down by another 8.50% and BSV’s price nosediving 11.32% in trading so far today. The other big loser is Stellar, whose price is has fallen by 6.42% in trading.
