Blockstream, which is a blockchain technology company, has revealed a newly revamped version of its very own Bitcoin wallet. It is now dubbed as the Blockstream Green.

Introducing the Blockchain Wallet

According to the official report, the firm managed to acquire the aforementioned back in 2016, which was known as GreenAddress before. Since the acquisition, the startup has tried to introduce a couple of overhauls, especially since it wanted to rebuild the wallet “from the group up.”

With the goal to revamp the Bitcoin wallet, Blockcstream decided to add a handful of new features. It believes that by doing so, it can make the process of storing the world’s leading cryptocurrency more secure and flexible.

The company, however, was not just about features and quality of life improvements. That is because it went to deal on some of the wallet’s aesthetic appeal, putting a lot of enhancements on its UI. For instance, it company redesigned the old interface, giving it an entirely new look.

But apart from the aesthetic improvements, the app – both available on Android and iOS – comes with a deluge of features. This includes, but not limited to, multisignature two-factor authentication and connection to hardware devices. The former enables users to guard against the possibility of hacks and/or thefts, whereas the latter is more on the flexibility of utilization. These hardware devices include the likes of Ledger and Trezor, a process that is very possible in either storing BTC offline or doing so directly on their very own BTC node for the goal of having added security.

Storing Liquid Assets

Blockstream has also introduced a boost on its privacy alongside an addition of support specifically designed for connections meant to Tor. The latter, in particular, is basically a privacy-based technology that is capable of concealing the location of users through shielding their respective IP addresses. The app also comes with a variety of language, such as Korean, Russian, Spanish, Ukrainian, German, French, Italian, Dutch, Chinese, and English, with a promise of introducing more in the near future.

Changelly - Exchange cryptocurrency at the best rate

For starters, the Bitcoin wallet can be primarily used for the purpose of storing BTC on the Bitcoin blockchain. However, it will soon have the ability to store their “liquid assets.” In other words, the firm is finally going to fulfill its promise of offering a wallet that can incorporate its flagship sidechain products called Liquid. The product was first launched on mainnet back in October last year, with a goal of helping transfers between exchanges become easier.
