ConsenSys CEO Has Predictions For Crypto, Facebook, & Trump
Joseph Lubin, the CEO of ConsenSys, had a very interesting keynote address in Red Hook, Brooklyn. For the participants, it felt like it was already 2047. Well, here is everything about it in a nutshell.
Lubin’s Different Predictions
In an attempt to close out this year’s Ethereal Summit, Lubin reportedly foresaw a future where digital assets had finally become tokenized. The Internet, in particular, had been decentralized completely. As for networks, they had been organized and revolved around varying tropical interests, allowing them to become as important to the life of humanity as nation states.
But perhaps the most interesting prediction the CEO revealed has something to do with the current President of the United States. According to the executive, the POTUS has higher chances of winning his second term come 2020.
Lubin is believed to have foreseen those following four years, all of which will mark a significant downturn in the history of American civilization. He also believes that there will be a huge boost in radical divisions and, worse, hate crimes.
The CEO of ConsenSys, however, said that there will be a turnaround. However, this will only be possible if the social media giant Facebook finally admits its critical role in the worldwide radicalism. He also talked about the possibility of a decentralized social web, one that is a complete opposite of Facebook and calls it “Open Book.” It is even something he believes that startups should start tapping into.
A Decentralized Era
Lubin’s predictions are really interesting in the sense that he had foreseen a medium-term future where. And while it is true that there are doubts concerning the potential of Ethereum to change the way data is shared, he particularly foresaw a brand new era where journalism has become more valuable and sustainable.
One of these platforms is none other than Civil, which, as it turns out, is a project supported by ConsenSys. The platform is designed to bring forth distributed verification and micropayments all the way to the media sector.
Lubin’s version of a decentralized era is one that has ethics with respect to what is really the truth, as well as what the true nature of facts is. Only by achieving this era, according to him, can there be more balanced viewpoints. Of course, these are all but predictions from the executive, but it is interesting to see just how much water the can hold in the future.
