A new app has just been recently launched, with an aim to significantly tackle the underlying issue of “inbound capacity.” The latter, in particular, refers to the world’s leading crypto, Bitcoin, and its lightning network.

Improving ‘Inbound Capacity’

According to the official report, among the many challenges present in the still-in-development payment network revolves around the need for adequate funds on the opposite end of their respective lightning channel. This is basically known as “inbound capacity.”

To put it simply, users are required to undergo a couple of steps before they can proceed into receiving money. Apparently, though, this process has proven to be a complicated one, especially for users such as merchants who need to accept funds through the network. Interestingly, it is a labyrinth that even other participants in the global “lightning torch” experiment have been battling against.

Through the newly-released app called Lightning Power Users, which is developed by Pierre Rochard, users will finally get an easier process when it comes to inbound capacity. It will reportedly include other services looking to promote this faster process, with Thor from Bitrefill and Lightning Loop from Lightning Labs as among these services.

The app ventures a totally different route when compared to Thor. For starters, it tends to have a shorter limit when it comes to how long the service can keep a channel open if it is not used. More importantly, the app is specifically designed for users who are looking to accept payment “imminently” and pursue a short-lived channel that comes with a smaller fee.

Preventing BTC From Being Centralized

Rochard is popular for being the mastermind behind a node launcher that enables the overall lightning setup process much easier. He said that he launched the service after getting worried about any of these services growing too massive and, thus, effectively making BTC more centralized than what it really needs to be.

In an interview, he said that he wanted to see “a large variety of ways” in order to do this.  If people are just going to rely on LNBIG and/or other services, then it is safe to say that Bitcoin is no longer decentralized. According to him, his primary goal is to provide a reliable service.

Rochard added that people, at first, were fond of submitting via Google Form, which is something that he would use in order to put up a channel manually. However, with the new service, everything about the process is automated.
