Opera just announced that its built-in Android Wallet is now enabled for the purchasing of Ethereum’s Ether. The service, which is only made available for Android users, became a possibility through the partnership between the web browser and the digital currency brokerage company called Safello.

Easy to Buy Ether

According to the official report, the purchases will be done using credit and debit cards in the form of fiat currency. Interestingly, though, it is expected to introduce and/or include a couple of trusted payment providers.

Opera said that this integration would give users the ability to purchase digital currencies at their fingertips. Safello, on the other hand, is tasked for powering transactions on the aforementioned browser. The company’s very own CEO and founder named Frank Schuil said that this move would bring down barriers to ownership, especially since people may now use their credit or debit cards in buying cryptocurrencies.

As of press time, the service is only made available for users located in Denmark, Norway, and Sweden. However, Opera revealed that this should be accessible in more locations. Right now, they just cannot provide exact details and as to when it will be in the future.

The Process of Purchasing Ether

If users decide to make a purchase using their BankID (Sweden) or identity solutions from NedID citizens (Denmark), they will need to go through Safello. The latter, in particular, will be in charge of the verification of this process. The good thing, though, is that this will not necessarily be a complicated process. As a matter of fact, users have been assured that the purchase of Ether will not take more than a minute.

Both Opera and Safello reiterated that they want to bring forth the ease of use, as it is an important factor when the service got developed.

Opera’s crypt product lead named Charles Hamel said that the usage will be the next important phase for cryptocurrencies. The same thing can be said about the service getting a much wider adoption. And the only way to make all of this possible is for the service to be intuitive and easy to use.

The web 3-ready web browser Android wallet was introduced back in December last year. Ever since then, it has quickly become among the most prominent browser-based wallets. The very reason for its popularity is its ease of use. Users do not necessarily have to undergo a very complicated process just get access to it.
