It is no secret that Jack Dorsey, who is basically the chief executive of both Twitter and Square, has long been a fan of Bitcoin. But it was only recently when his affection for the world’s leading digital currency has gained public attention. This was after the CEO decided to tweet about it on the platform.

Passing the Torch

According to the official report, the Silicon Valley celebrity’s tweet accumulated around 50 tweets after tweeting about the blockchain ecosystem. And apparently, his views towards the cryptocurrency have reached greater heights, with one suggesting the crypto could become the Internet’s native currency.

What is even more interesting in the crypto space is that Dorsey has reportedly “passed the torched” in what appears to be a game. It is said to have started on January 19. The game, in particular, has since then gone from one user to another.

Apparently, each user has to add at least 10,000 satoshis up to the initial amount of about 100,000 satoshis. The chain has massively grown in size, reaching to a figure of roughly 2,860,000 satoshis. This happened right after Matt Odell, a cryptocurrency host, sent the tweet to Dorsey. The former is believed to have asked for a Lighting invoice.

Dorsey replied and, at the same time, kept the torch going. Of course, this is certainly much to the enjoyment of Lightning Network fans. As previously reported and mentioned above, the CEO of Square has been at the forefront of digital currency over the years. In fact, he once announced about the possibility of developing versions of Square that would enable crypto cash-outs in the future.

A Single Currency

The aforementioned executive believes that, in one way or another, the world will see a single currency. The same thing can be said for the internet, as he noted. And if these are to happen, there is no doubt that it will be Bitcoin. While he did not say an exact timeline, he is confident it is going to happen 10 years from now or even faster. Dorsey even mentioned that as of right now, BTC is the only crypto he owns.

The Lightning Network torch is expected to flame out as soon as the LN invoice reaches a theoretical limit, which is said to be around $140. Until then, it seems safe to assume that Dorsey is going to pay everything forward. And this is none other than to the co-founder of Lightning Labs named Elizabeth Stark.
