The Chelan county Public Utility District (PUD) commissioners discovered that there was unauthorized cryptocurrency mining taking place in the county and have ordered the enforcement of the crypto-mining moratorium.
The measures will include the enforcement of fines and penalties, the disconnection of services and the reporting of unauthorized loads to the law as power theft. Additionally, officials who may have been involved in this venture will also be fired.

Bank of Montreal Bans Crypto Buying Using Debit Cards
The Bank of Montreal in Canada has now disallowed its customers from using their Interac debit cards to buy cryptocurrencies. While the bank’s spokesperson confirmed this move, no justification was given for it.
However, according to a bank employee, an internal company-wide email was circulated explaining that ban was being put in place due to volatile nature of cryptocurrencies.
All transactions made by MasterCard would be blocked, while transactions using the Interac debit card would lead to temporary charges to be placed. Ultimately, however, even Interac debit card transactions are going to be banned.

14% of Young Japanese Males Own Cryptos
According to a survey conducted among 4,734 Japanese men between the ages of 25 and 30, 14% own cryptocurrencies. Of the young men who said they owned cryptocurrencies, 25% of them said that this was their first investment.
92% of the respondents who confirmed that they owned cryptocurrencies entered the market for investment purposes. 37.4% of them said that they invested in cryptocurrencies because it was the trend to do so. Only 19.9% said that they invested in the market because of recommendations from friends and acquaintances.
