World Bank Also Criticizes Blockchain Technology

The World Bank has also joined the ranks of organizations criticizing Blockchain technology, however, this time, it is warning people about the technology’s role in land rights.

A Land Administration Specialist with the World Bank’s Global Land and Geospatial Unit, Aanchal Anand, spoke at the 20th Annual Conference on Land and Poverty that is currently ongoing at Washington DC. She stated that Blockchain technology was hyped and that it seemed like it could solve all their problems, however, the reality was different from what was being advertised.

Battlestar Capital Claims Customers Can Earn Up to 30% Returns

Battlestar Capital, the Blockchain based staking-as-a-service startup has claimed that its customers could earn returns of up to 30% a year by just holding cryptocurrencies.

Battlestar stated in an interview that it was partnering with the crypto-lending company Celsius Network in order to launch a large-scale staking service that would provide such high returns. While the company did not specify what the lower limit of returns would be during the interview, Battlestar’s website stated that returns could be as little as 5% per year. The company stated that investors who either did not have the expertise or the time to focus on the day-to-day tasks needed in staking could use their services.

Messari Introduces New Exchange Index

Messari, the cryptocurrency analytics firm has introduced a new exchange index for 10 crypto exchanges called Real 10 Volumes. The announcement was made via a blog post on March 26 that this new product had been launched on Messari’s OnChainFX dashboard. The company also stated that this had been done to limit the default calculations on trading volumes for the 10 chosen exchanges.

The Real 10 exchanges include Coinbase Pro, Binance, Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Bittrex, Bitflyer, itBit, Poloniex, Gemini and Kraken. In the blog, the firm stated that these exchanges had reported legitimate as well as significant volumes of trade through their APIs (application programming interface).

While yesterday, the cryptocurrency market was completely in the red, today, in the last 24 hours, the markets have turned around and all the top ten cryptos are trading in the green. The biggest jump in price has been for EOS, which is up 11.45%, followed by Cardano, which has risen 9.30%. The third biggest gains in the market today are for Bitcoin Cash at 6.90%.
