XRP Price Skyrockets 75% in 24 Hours of Trading
The price of Ripple (XRP) shot up by as much as 75% during trading on Friday. AT about 14:45 UTC, XRP’s price skyrocketed to $0.77, a 75% jump from its opening price of $0.45.
The surge in the price of XRP was such that it was able to overtake Ethereum’s Ether (ETH) as the number two cryptocurrency in the based on market capitalization. At that point, the market cap of XRP went up to $23 billion, a figure not seen since June 10.

UN Initiative Funds to be Managed by Celsius Network
According to a press release, Celsius Network, the decentralized borrowing and lending platform, will be managing the Sustainable Development Goals Impact Fund, which is a part of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) initiative.
The SDG Initiative is an international program that is focused on creating a more sustainable as well as better future for all. The program focuses on issues such as inequality, poverty, environmental degradation, climate change, peace, justice and prosperity.
According to the announcement, the Impact Fund is going to be launched by the financial services company Fifth Element with the target of raising several 100 million dollars. The funds raised will be deployed in fiat as well as crypto formats.

S Korean Government to Support Blockchain Startups
According to local news reports, the South Korean Ministry of Science and Information Communications Technology (MSICT) has promised to help the growth of the Blockchain industry in the country. The Second Minister of the MSICT Min Won-ki organized a meet with Blockchain startups as a part of the South Korean government’s aim to grow an industry that it has made a part of what it calls the 10 key ICT sectors of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
