There are no trading conditions mentioned on this broker’s website. The only thing the broker mentions is that they offer modest leverage ratios, they have fast executions, and you are offered transparent and low prices for trading.

However, in a completely separate section of their website, CauvoCapital states that they offer a leverage of 1:400 and low spreads.

CauvoCapital – Disadvantages

Given below are the reasons why we would strongly advise against dealing with this broker:

  • Questions About Regulation

CauvoCapital claims to be owned and operated by Cauvo Brokerage Mauritius LTD. The broker also claims to be regulated by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) of Mauritius and provides us with a license number (C119023932).

We checked the online database of the Mauritius FSC and found out that there is a company by the name of Cauvo Brokerage Mauritius LTD listed with the regulator. The problem with have with this information is that there is no domain name listed, so we cannot be sure whether this is the same brokerage that we are reviewing.

Furthermore, even if this broker is really licensed by the Mauritius FSC, this license doesn’t hold any value. This is because offshore locations are known for their very lax or no laws. And unfortunately, Mauritius is no exception to that rule.

So, the first issue we have with CauvoCapital is whether they are regulated at all. And the second issue we have is that even if they are, the quality of their license is not worth anything in other jurisdictions.

Either way, this is not a broker that is one that we would want to trust – especially since they have not bothered to get a license from any of the countries that they have targeted as their customer base.

  • Issues with Trading Platform

CauvoCapital claims to offer their clients an intelligent platform that can handle all your trading decisions. The broker also states that their platform is available in three versions – desktop, web trader, and mobile app.

However, when we checked the platform, we found that it was a pretty basic software, with very little in the way of trading tools and functionalities. This is a platform that would be okay for novice traders, but would leave most advanced traders frustrated and dissatisfied.

We were unable to access the real platform as there was no demo account available – which is always a disadvantage. Due to this, we were unable to check the trading conditions for ourselves.

  • Issues with Trading Conditions

CauvoCapital has not mentioned their trading conditions clearly on their website, and since we were unable to access their trading platform, we do not know much more. Therefore, all we can present to you is the information on their website – which is another huge red flag for us.

First of all, a minimum deposit of $500 is just too high for today’s market. The current market average is from $100 to $250, but more and more brokers are no offering traders the chance to open an account with them for much lower sums. In fact, there are plenty of excellent brokerages where you can open an account for less than $10.

As for the leverage, at 1:400, it is much too high. Firstly, such high leverage is extremely risky. And secondly, this leverage ratio is illegal in the EU, which is the main target market for this broker.

CauvoCapital has omitted to mention the rest of the trading conditions. Therefore, we do not know what the spreads – the cost of trading – are. We also do not know what fees and commissions this broker is charging.

Such incomplete information would only be provided by an untrustworthy broker – a scammer.

  • Issues Related to Payments

According to what we have found out, CauvoCapital offers only two types of payment options – credit cards and debit cards. We have an issue with this since most legitimate brokers offer a wide range of payment options – credit and debit cards, bank transfers, wire transfers, cryptocurrencies, e-wallets such as Skrill, PayPal, Neteller and so many more.

Limited payment options are suspicious.

But that is not all. The only way that you can withdraw your money is via bank transfers, except for the initial deposit, which can be withdrawn using the card you have used initially. This lack of consistency is another red flag for us. Customers should be able to withdraw their funds using the same method that they have used to deposit the money.

Furthermore, this broker does charge fees for payment processing. However, they do not bother telling us what these fees are and what they will be charged for. The only tiny snippet of information we get is that there is a chargeback of $60, but we are not told what it is for.

And finally, the broker claims that they can change their commissions and fees at any time and without giving you any notice.

These are not conditions that are fair to traders in any way at all.

Conclusion

CauvoCapital is not a broker that you can trust. It would be best to avoid this scammer.
